3% to 5% of the population suffer from reduced vision in one eye, reffered to as “lazy Eye” or “Amblyopia”. Current treatments for Amblyopia are all focused on a limited time window for treatment during childhood and are all very much demanding for the child and parents. Overall the success of treating Amblyopia is thus very limited, with as much as 50% of patients failing to adhere to therapy and left untreated. There is a real and immediate need for an alternative therapy, that will be less demanding and more acceptable for parents and children.

Opthocare has developed, patented and tested a novel treatment for Amblyopia that is incorporated into eyeglasses. By the use of advanced liquid crystal technology and miniature electronics, the novel electroni eyeglasses perform effective anti Amblyopia therapy during every day activities, without the need for dedicated “treatment time”.
R&D has been completed. The company has proved clinical efficacy in a multicenter clinical study, and the results were published in leading Ophthalmic journals.
Recently, the company has secured a co-operation agreement with a large international manufacturer of eyewear and is expected to iniitate sales on Q1 2012.
OpthoCare has already secured distribution agreements with large international players. The company will provide medical consult, support and promotion (clinical conferences, journals, etc.), while customer support, marketing, slaes and distribution will be performed by our partners.
