Verdi Visual Intelligence Ltd develops technology and software for live, interactive video communication on the web. This innovative technology, called C-Smooth™, enables continuous and smooth live video streaming, overcoming the problems caused by bandwidth changes and irregularities.

Researches and marketing surveys provided by leading companies indicate that real time, quality and interactive experience are the most important parameters for video users. On the other hand, interruptions and poor experience are the primary cause for dissatisfaction among those users.

The two characteristics needed for a real-time live broadcast are smooth stream and minimal delay, and there is a conflict between the two.

Smooth stream – Internet streaming is susceptible to bandwidth changes and irregularity, causing the broadcast to freeze and harm the quality of viewing experience. To minimize those interruptions, Internet streaming today uses buffer technology, hence delaying the video.

Minimal delay – Buffer technology inhibits the ability to go real-time, as viewers have significant delay between the viewed content and the source. In other words – it's not a real-time broadcast.

C-Smooth™ technology developed by Verdi provides live, real-time and smooth video broadcast, just as it is viewed on TV. In addition, viewers will be able to participate in live sessions. This will be made possible by Verdi's invention (patent pending) that ensures smooth video stream in real-time, overcoming the bandwidth fluctuations and jitter, thus enabling uninterrupted live broadcast and high quality of experience.

Verdi is focusing on the new media market that combines the internet and the mobile communication. C-Smooth technology supports cross-platform interoperability (roaming from Ethernet, Wi-Fi, WiMax, Cellular and back is seamless and communication stays stable) and adapts in real-time to bandwidth changes, however severe. Thanks to those characteristics, Verdi's technology will enable to merge the communication between the two infrastructures, by overcoming the limitations caused due to the dynamic changes in bandwidth while roaming between networks. C-Smooth technology will enable both internet content sites and cellular providers to develop new content applications, especially Live and Interactive Video Communication, and generate revenues from new markets that are waiting to be exploited and developed.

While there are some attempts to solve the problem of streaming video interruptions, they are based on proprietary technology, called layered Codec, and can be used by only a fraction of the market. This technology also requires more network resources and is not very efficient.

Verdi C-Smooth™ technology is indifferent to Codec formats and can be used with every standard Codec. C-Smooth™ is also very efficient and can help cut streaming cost a great deal.
