There are around 250 solutions pretending to try solving the same problem but most of them extend exciting web technologies to web application. None of them extend desktop technologies to web as Gizmox does.
Technology & Product Description
The most abstract descriptive analogy to Visual WebGui’s technology is; "Webtized Mainframe". Visual WebGui is the first and only technology that implements this concept for web.
Unlike the classic Mainframe, VWG concept takes into account that today's strong clients offer technological advantages that were not available in the old days of the Mainframe. Thus, VWG allows integration, mash-up, invocation and utilization of client side resources.
Although VWG runs on the server which explains its numerous benefits in terms of development productivity, server side mash up, data accessibility and industrial strength, it is ultra light on network. The reason lies within the server client connectivity which is a propriety, extra optimized AJAX protocol.
It allows standard browser / Silverlight accessibility without specific installation.
Literally, server state is being "screened" on the client, by Meta data. Nothing but incremental Meta Data (result of further optimization) goes back and forth, thus payloads are constant and stay less then 1 kb. This architecture enables the decoupled presentation layer concept which literally allows any presentation layer that can send and receive XML as VWG presentation layer. Current 2 presentation layers are DHTML standard browser and Microsoft Silverlight.
This architecture also explains VWG secured by design attribute as there are no open services, logic or data on client and therefore no exposure to malicious intervention.
